GCA Referees Rick McCoy and Todd Govern were selected to officiate at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 20, which took place at the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA on January 11, 2010. Rick is the head instructor of the GCA’s Officials Certification Program. Thank you both for your dedication to our sport. Often underappreciated and overly criticized, the function of the referee is first and foremost in place to ensure the safety of the fighters. With extensive experience as a fighter, head coach of MMA Institute, and instructor of aspiring officials, Rick is undoubtedly one of the most knowledgeable and qualified official’s in Mixed Martial Arts. We would like to congratulate Rick and Todd for a job well done and we look forward to seeing them again on the big stage!
